If you do not know there are things you do not see, then you do not see them because you do not expect them to be there. Youโd think youโd see everything, so youโd think everything you see is all there is to be seen. - Pet
To be still is useful when you want to see unseen things. - Pet
๐ง My thoughts
This book took a not-anymore-new topic, breathed some fresh air into it, and gave it so much depth. The prose was beautiful and lyrical. It had both biblical and philosophical references but didnโt feel forceful or pretentious. This book was such a gem!
๐ What I like
- Meaningful and deep storyline
- Beautiful and lyrical prose
๐ What I don't like
- Although the ending was rather powerful, it still lacked a punch for me
- For me, it felt that the LGBTQAI+ representation didnโt have that much weight in the plot, why mentioned it?
Minor: Child abuse and Physical abuse
