Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson

5.0

If I could rate this book a 100 stars, I would. If there is one word that I would use to describe this book, that would be CHAOTIC.

This was my first time experiencing Thompson's writing style. It's like a punch in the face, but with little pauses in between to allow you to breathe. There were times when I was laughing out loud while reading this book. And there were moments where he really made me question every presupposition I have of societal expectations. Then of course, there were instances that made me wonder how did this man survive and escape all the drugs and crazy antics.

If you think Oscar Wilde is descriptive with his writing, then Thompson will take you on a roller coaster ride with his description of the American Dream.

No wait! I mean, the description of that dark underbelly of the American Dream.

I would recommend this book to every human being out there. I know a lot of people have already watched the Johnny Depp movie, but read this book. You will never regret this ride of a lifetime.

P. S. Keep a highlighter with you when reading this book. There are so many enlightening and profound statements by Thompson that you would love to remember forever.
