I thought the prose, atmosphere, and the loneliness aspect of the main character were executed well, but if you take the setting/environment aside, it felt like a typical romance book, nothing new. Really enjoyable up to the first half, but then it took a nosedive with how fast things progressed, especially before the ending so that things could be wrapped up. Would have been excellent if fleshed out a little further. I liked it overall but ultimately forgettable.
Moderate: Kidnapping, Death, Violence, and Toxic relationship
