Along the Tapajós by Daniel Hahn, Fernando Vilela

adventurous

Winter has arrived, and it's time for the people of a Tapajós riverside community to move for the rainy season. This picture book follows along with a day in the life of a young boy who lives in the Amazon forest as his family relocates for the season. I find the art unusual but charming. The story itself is simple, cute, and edifying to those who, like me, don't know about this aspect of the Amazonian populações ribeirinhas.
