The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan
3.0
This was recommended to me over a year ago but I only saw it in bookstores a month or so ago. I picked it up to read as something light between heavier stories and it did the trick.
The story starts in a rush with brothers, Nick and Alan on the run from magicians who summon demons. Their mother has a charm that every magician will kill for. Jamie and Mae join the duo when Alan is marked and Jamie seeks to remove his own marks.
What follows is a good twist and turn story, however, I felt a bit old for this read. I predicted the twists, called the ending early, but overall I enjoyed it.
Team Nick, by the way.
