The Bridegroom Was a Dog by Yōko Tawada

3.0

I'm sure there's something here and I unfortunately didn't quite get it. I liked the prose and concept but this just felt like a book that begs to be dissected and analyzed more than a book to be enjoyed for what it is. I was always unsure if I had been left out of a joke or missed some detail that would make it all click. I wish I had the version with other stories so that I could give a more well rounded review. I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually.
