My Year of Meats by Ruth Ozeki

5.0

My gosh did this world feel so real and beautiful and haunting. I got so connected with the complex characters and felt their pain, excitement, fear, and everything in between. I'm still marveling at how a book can cover so many topics without feeling preachy - feminism, the meat industry, motherhood/fertility, sexism, and so much more, plus a captivating story!
