This ended up leaning too much into what I've decided to call the "adorkable" side of whimsy for me to fully buy into emotionally. At times I really felt I'd rather see all of this from the outside, more of the real world Luna than her occasional word dumps via "the screening room" but also, at the same time, when the narrative broke that barrier it felt out of place.

Some of the mechanics of the dream world and their relation to the real world also often puzzled me-- I'm probably overthinking it, but it seems like there's a story where those connections COULD be more profound and more reflective of how your mind works.

Overall the experience left me feeling we'd never fully gotten into the themes and real emotions of the story.

I don't think, though, that my experience means that the target audience won't get something out of the message here, or enjoy the lush fantasy setting and funny characters (Winks being the real MVP). There's a good chance they will.
