Awakening by Robin Wasserman

1.0

Eh...
Trying to start writing real reviews so....
Awakening is a book about a young girl who has no idea who she is. I read the first few chapters and then got bored with it. Then I skipped to the end to see what happened (which I've never done before by the way). It just felt so...simple to me. Pretty boring really. I kinda sorta almost got into it but didn't. I went into it wanting to just read it real fast so it wouldn't be on my TBR shelf anymore. I think that's part of why I didn't like it. Still, I didn't like the main character, or the way the main character was written anyways. I felt like she didn't have any depth. She was just a body being used by the author as someone for the plot to happen to. I also just plain didn't buy some of it. Like how she had no memory but she had a voice in her head that told her what she thought. What? Sorry, not buying it. She also said things like, "I should feel hopeless right now" or "I should feel scared right now" or "this should be hopeless right now, but it's not. Isn't that weird? How weird is that!?" Of course not in those exact words.
Anyways, this is now off of my TBR shelf and onto my "Books I don't like" shelf.
Also just realized that this is my first book I've read in 2012 D: That makes me sad :( Even though I only kind of read it..
