Delving into this book having read the first in the series several years prior was the most amazing thing. This book is slightly different from the first in that, instead of focusing on one mystery throughout the whole novel, Christie gives us a series of mysteries Tommy and Tuppence dip their toes into. Some of these are quite serious, gripping, will have you on the edge of your seat — others are brimming with fun and playfulness.

As usual, Tuppence steals the show. How can anyone not love Tuppence; she’s funny, witty, everything you would love in another person. She adds a twist and a touch of humour to every short story.

There were a couple of short stories that were difficult to get into, that left me feeling satisfied when the truth was revealed. The storytelling is better in some short stories than others. But that said, it’s still a great book all in all to get into, certainly helped me out of my reading slump!
