Alternate Routes by Tim Powers

4.0

3 1/2 stars, but enough fun to round up. It's nice to take a break and read a lighthearted story that's not epic in scope, and Powers still manages to work in enough of his trademark elements of literature, poetry, and mythology to keep it interesting. As others have noted, the villains aren't very fleshed out, and Terracotta is more an object of pity than a scary force. However, I'll still be looking for further adventures of this pair.
