A beautiful retelling of Romeo & Juliet minus the death. At the beginning I was a bit bored the story took a bit long in my opinion and was even going to dnf but I kept going. And that was the greatest thing I’ve done. The story was cute I kept gushing at the moments between Mariana and Angelo. I love the tiny references and big references (ex. Selena) as a fellow Mexican. I listened to the audiobook as it was free for me and GOD LORD my face would heat up. There’s no sex in the book however it was still spicy. Priscilla knows how to make people’s hearts skip a beat. It was the greatest story I have heard I kept waiting for the next day (after I decide to sleep) to come so I could hear them once more. Priscilla knows how to write characters even I was rooting for Tío Hugo to forget the feud and move on from the past despite him not doing so I love how he grew and accepted his defeat at the battle of the bands. I couldn’t decide who I wanted to win as both had good reasons to. Well Angelo has a good reason, I mean. And the end where Mariana looked for Nina felt like a telenovela which luckily no one died or it would be like one. I CANNOT wait to read Catalina’s story next.
