The Knight of Malta by John Fletcher
4.0
Some really odd elements, in particular a drunken, boastful Danish knight. Fletcher does seem to have known a little about the Order of St John of Malta, but reimagined it in some strange ways.
Read as part of the Shakespeare Institute's 2019 readathon: #Websterthon.
ETA: Re-read as part of the online Reading Early Plays readathon in the dank Covid-19-hit autumn of 2020. Some sexual and race issues here which are distinctly problematic to a modern reader, but despite having a trio of authors it fits together quite well.
