East of West Volume 5: All These Secrets by Jonathan Hickman

4.0

This series still hasn't missed a step, and each issue is totally gripping from beginning to end. The artwork still pops and blends dusty western, crisp, sharp sci-fi, and Cthulian horror effortlessly, and there's a particularly stunning silent issue in the middle of this volume that perfectly demonstrates how powerful the art is. The writing is still excellent too with every character having plenty of depth and demanding you invest in them, whilst the plot is packed with intrigue to keep you guessing and move you forward. It's a bit of a nightmare trying to keep up with all the pieces in play and machinations thereof with such big gaps between volumes but that makes me more excited for when I can finally read the whole epic end to end.
