I've loved Gordon Korman's other series in the past. The one does not beat my favourite (Everest), but it was very good. Korman's books are formulaic in structure, but he specializes in creating character that make you care despite that.
My father used to SCUBA dive and I've always wanted to learn so I have a touch of fascination with the culture of diving. I guess I'll have to see where he takes the trilogy.
