Very strong finish to an excellent limited series with some truly lovely and honest characters and stunning art. The world feels fully realized and I was fascinated to learn about the tribes beyond the Roto and Paznina and the alternative family that comes from being outsiders.

You could tell from the jump there was absolutely no way Rollo was escaping this story alive, but still, I was moved by the needlessness of his death. A lesser writer would have had him sacrifice himself in a show of heroics, and I felt the ultimate result much better highlights the themes around the futility of war.

Looking forward to whatever Johnson is working on next!
