Tidal Creatures by Seanan McGuire

2.0

This installment is easier to follow than earlier books in the series, but the endless obsession with the "impossible city" is maddening—how many times can you repeat a phrase? The beginning drags, and the convoluted prose is frustrating, typical of the author’s style. I’m here solely for the story, hoping for the return of Roger, Dodger, and the emo assassin. Unfortunately, the Lunas are dull and not nearly as engaging. A slog, but I’m hanging on for the characters I care about.
