I…. have very mixed feelings about this book. I understand why some people love this and for it’s time it was original. However, I find the characters to be very flat and unlovable. I bumped into the “please show don’t tell” problem quite a bit.
Rielle was an okay character. She could become interesting. Eliana is infuriating. She’s so edgy but feels guilty for everything. Even things she shouldn’t feel guilty for. I think Eliana should end up with Navi, which could be an interesting and healthy relationship, but am willing to bet my next book budget that she will end up in a toxic relationship with Simon. I didn’t give a single shit about Audric and Ludivine has no character until the last 100 pages.
I hope the rest of this series will be better…
