Overall, my biggest criticism of this book is that I didn’t feel like there was enough time given to the political intrigue. I feel like I was left with more questions than answers about how the country comes back together and what happens to the colonies and the alliances.  I feel like it just ends after the happily ever after, which is fine but with the weight put on the rest of the book, I was expecting more resolution than they rode off into the sunset. I liked the characters. Kit and Niamh are sweet together and Sinclair was entertaining. I just was left wanting more.
