Dead Silence
by S.A. Barnes
This was a delectable horror story! It was as if the movie ghost ship met the video game dead space - a perfect combination!
One of my thoughts that I noted while reading the book: “I have read 52% of the book so far, and I thoroughly have enjoyed my time on the Aurora - even though the crew has not.” This is because the atmosphere is so eerie and creepy.
To give a brief synopsis of the book, a luxurious cruise ship disappeared into space on its maiden voyage. The ship, the Aurora, was made for the elite, so when Claire Kovalik and her crew stumble upon this massive find, they decide to board the ship to claim it. With this claim, the money could set each of them up for life - which Claire is desperate for because she is out of employment after this last job with her current company.
As you can imagine, the team sees and hears strange things on the ship. Then, the bodies of the passengers start showing up with ghastly wounds with evidence of suicide and murder. The horror presented to you draws you deeper into the ship - what would cause the people -both the crew and the passengers - to act this way? What happened all those years ago? And will the team be able to survive long enough to find out?
This was a 5/5 star book for me!
