Defend the Dawn
by Brigid Kemmerer
I have struggled with how to rate this book. I needed time away from it before I could give an honest opinion.
It just felt so completely different from the first book. I felt disconnected from the characters. Some of their choices did not make sense to me. The attempt at a love triangle really confused me. I wanted to see a lot of growth from characters in who they were as individuals and a couple. And I feel like I got the opposite.
The plot took a while to get into. It dragged for me. It also felt a little scattered in places.
I just missed something here that made me truly love the first one.
