Listen. I really liked this book at first but then I figured out what was going to happen and got so frustrated. I called the sister dying when it switched to her letters pov. Which wouldn’t have been a bad thing but I really just wanted a light beach read. Instead I ended up crying a lot and reading about a wedding and a funeral.
I found the sisters to both be incredibly frustrating in their own ways. The younger sister more so, but I could not stand Marin in the flashback, every decision she made made me irrationally angry. And the Sadie planned this whole trip to bail, which I understand given the circumstances but are you kidding!? All Marin wanted was to spend time with her sister! She could have done these things with her sister. And I get she needed to be pushed out of her comfort zone. But if my sister did the same thing, I would be livid, she could have done the same dare and just had Sadie stay at the hotel. I don’t know maybe I'm over thinking it.
I also hated Ted, he served no purpose to me.
Lucas however is the real MVP and would fly to the ends of the earth for someone he loved.
