Alien Commander's Bride by Juno Wells, Scarlett Grove

Sigh.

The premise was interesting! It had real potential. I was hoping that the characters would address the class and poverty issues that the Draconians had caused. However it's never carried through. Lexi is meant to resent the dragons and their influence but immediately changes her tune. The fact that her dad forged her signature is not cool and it makes me furious that her dad doesn't get any sort of punishment for doing so.

The biggest issue I had though? Nash puts his semen on Lexi's skin, knowing that it will affect her opinion of him. The explanation is that it produces pheremones that will make her more likely to accept the bond.

He doesn't tell her that this is what it does. He pretends to leave her alone to come around by herself knowing full well that the chemicals speed up the process from months/years to mere days.

It seriously calls into question the validity of Lexi's emotions. It robs us of the satisfaction of seeing Lexi come around to liking and eventually loving Nash. It paints Nash in such a negative light that I completely lost all interest in their romance.
