The Haunting of Alma Fielding by Kate Summerscale

2.0

The point of view and conclusions don’t have enough “grip” to them. The main people weren’t explored with enough depth and certainty for this story to work in the way it’s presented. Fodor’s main conclusions were based on assumption, and the tie-ins to time and place are interesting but more poetic than persuasive for me. The references to other works of fiction felt random and grasping.
