This book has slowed down the pace a lot, because for a long time after Atticus's apple thief mission, we only read about the preparations for the god-killing expedition. It's not until the last 70-80 pages that we really get into the Asgardian adventure and the chaotic battle. Through flashbacks we get to know the new characters better, who share their reasons for hating Thor.
I really missed Oberon, sadly Vejnemöjnen, Perun and Chang Kuo-lao couldn't make up for it. Besides Atticus, the duo of Leif and Gunnar made the story exciting and funny. For the first time, I felt that the druid needs a smart and brave female character, so I am looking forward to Granuaile getting a bigger role.
The epilogue was heartbreaking because we lost a lovable character who deserved a much better fate.
