Miguel and the Grand Harmony by Matt de la Peña

3.0

The illustrations are vibrant and engaging, but there was just too much text. I loved the idea of “la musica” guiding the little boy; I loved the idea of “la musica” being a part of the neighborhood. It felt like there were two separate stories going on here and it was all a little convoluted and confusing. Plus, the movie references went over my head because I don’t watch a lot of movies anymore and I haven’t seen this one.
