A Place of Execution by Val McDermid

3.0

I found the initial part of the story interesting with the minute by minute account of the search for a missing 14yr old girl in a small Derbyshire village. However everyone smoked and although maybe most did in 1960, in the book all the characters still smoked in 1998 and are forever drinking tea.
It became very repetitive.
Good premise but spoilt by length and constant tea and cigarettes!
