Adam Howe's writing is simple and breezy, allowing his stories and characters and the bizarre situations he puts them in to come to full life on the page (or ebook reader LOL). That being said, I never felt compelled to continue reading upon reaching the various chapter breaks in each story. You can really see Howe's inspirations in Lansdale and Ketchum showing up, though this only means that, aside from the gore and *that* scene, it's just a paint-by-numbers way of storytelling that likely won't stick with me after reading it, TBH (to be honest).
