The Last Wish
by Andrzej Sapkowski
Overall: 4.5/5
The whole world had ceased to exist for a brief moment, but to them, it seemed like a whole eternity.
Although I had read this book since when I cannot remember, I decided to read it again to prep for the new Netflix series.
The book still managed to blow my mind! I am impressed by the level of details of the immense world built by Andrzej. He introduced me to a beautiful combination of Slavic mythology, a distinct eastern European setting, and classical high fantasy. The writing was both lyrical and rough, like raw diamond in its own peculiar beauty.
I liked how the book was composed of short tales about Geralt, the Witcher, professional monster hunter, sorcerer, swordsman and mutant. Reading these tales left me wanting much more, especially when I put it down.
