The Heir of Mistmantle by M.I. McAllister

3.0

I've always been a fan of personal stakes, and man, does this book deliver that. Once again, M.I. McAllister writes an engaging, snappy A-plot. Unfortunately, the B-plot is again lacking. The characters don't really carry the same weight that I wish they did, even though they're all very distinct from one another. Ultimately, it's still a recommended read from me as any three star book is, but not quite universally. If you like the characters and world, you'll probably like this well enough.
