Baltimore, Volume Three: A Passing Stranger and Other Stories by Mike Mignola, Christopher Golden

4.0

I truly adore the depths of darkness the Baltimore stories reach. A Passing Stranger and Other Stories is beautiful and tragic. I particularly love the references to Poe; I've noticed traces of old Edgar in Mignola's work before, but the homage really flourishes on these pages. Of course, no work with the name Mike Mignola attached is complete without stellar artwork, and this volume is no exception. When thinking about series like this, it's always important to consider the character development, and I love what we see here -- not just Baltimore, but more minor characters as well. A very solid installment, and I wait on tenterhooks for the next one.
