The Sand Warrior by Alexis Siegel, Mark Siegel

There is a LOT going on here, so I felt a little inundated by information. Once the story got past that and picked up more of the plot, I got into more of a groove. I like the characters so far but look forward to seeing them get some more development. The art is lovely, and the world is very vibrant and realized. It doesn't feel like a stale standby, but like a fresh setting. I have a feeling the next installment will be stronger, since all the necessary up-front set-up is now out of the way.
