The Autumnal: The Complete Series by Daniel Kraus

3.0

I don't even remember why I took this from the library, but anyway. Here we are.

I really liked the style, I seem to like a lot of roughed-drawn graphic novels recently!

The story.. I guess it was interesting, although not particularly original. It reminded me of that orchard episode from SPN, plus Family Tree by Jeff Lemire and Diary by Chuck Palahniuk. If you read this and know these three stories let me know if you agree with me!

I liked our main character's relationship with her daughter, and how she tries her best to be a good mother. You can definitely feel a sense of impending doom looming over them, although it failed to build up enough suspense to be really spooky for some reason. I cannot pinpoint why, I was just not scared. Although I liked the little twist at the end.

Three stars and half.
