This book was so much better than the first one. Perhaps this is because there was no movie to guide my expectations before reading the book. Everything that I disliked in the first book was majorly improved upon, especially the amount of descriptions and the pacing of the story. There was also less of the more annoying characters (cough Eleanor cough) and more time focused on other, more loveable characters. I can't wait to read the last book of the trilogy!

As for the plot, I loved the Kitty and Astrid arcs, and at first I was hesitant about the 'Rachel is actually from a rich family' trope but I love how it was handled, especially Carlton's character. Also the Roxanne+Colette plot twist really took me by surprise!
