Wrath Goddess Sing by Maya Deane
Did not finish book. Stopped at 60%.

Love the whole concept. I thought Achilles as a trans women was so powerful, but the further I got into the book…more issues popped up. This book is written by a trans woman, but sometimes we can hurt our own communities. And this book did that in some instances in my opinion.
In the very beginning there is a lot of transphobia, but that magically goes away when Achilles is fully transformed into a woman by the gods. There is also a part of the book where Achilles takes a black trans man as a slave. That gave me super ick vibes. This was suppose to be a very empowering book and having a white trans woman enslave a black trans man felt very opposite that.
As far as I got those were the major parts that made me stop reading. I hope that what comes next from this author will please do better
