Yagi the Bookshop Goat
by Fumi Furukawa
4.5 stars! This adorable albeit a bit smutty Boys Love manga had me hooked from the the cover alone! I love stories set in bookshops and felt particularly drawn to this one as I used to be a bookseller. Yagi is a cute goat boy who dreams of selling books after having a love of books fostered by an older kid who worked at a bookstore. However, being a goat, it is well known that goats have an affinity for all things paper, so every bookshop on his side of town (the herbivore side) adamantly refuses to let him anywhere near books. Thus, this bibliophile of a goat finds himself on the carnivorous side of town begging for a job. Enter broody wolf boss, Ookami san! He has a special connection to Yagi and is endeared enough to give him a job. Thus sunshine Yagi and grump Ookami devour…I mean…navigate the book world together while slowly revealing their true passion…each other!
