I originally picked up this novel because I had been told it was the source material for Blade Runner. I also kept hearing about Philip K Dick off and on from other English teachers, and decided to give him a try.
Wow. This novel is as powerful as it is soul-crushing and beautiful. I think it discusses what it means to be human in a way that is just fascinating. Yea, movies will never totally align with their novel source materials, but I felt that most of the movie maintained the novel´s sentiment. I also really just enjoyed Dick´s writing style. I think overall, he writes a novel that I am absolutely itching to teach in a classroom at some point.
