I don't know if I'm just tired of the Nightside-- having listened to so many of this series in quick succession, but I think things may have peaked in book 6.
Now John is picking up odd jobs and author Simon R. Green seems to be recycling phrases and describing bosoms (heaving bosoms artfully displayed with coy, manipulative cleavage) with no real direction. I read most of these ages ago, but I'm beginning to remember why my interest fizzled out.
This is a fantastic world with gods and demons and vices and everything you'd want from a paranormal/noir... And I'm bored. I may skip to the next one and see if things improve...
