Hope Burns by Jaci Burton

4.0

Years ago Molly and Carter had a hot and heavy love while in high school but when tragedy struck Molly left Hope, never looking back. Now that she’s back in town for her sister’s wedding she can’t avoid Carter or the feelings that she still has for him. Carter knows that he was a dumb kid who made mistakes and now that Molly’s back in town he’s ready to reconnect. When they get the chance to reopen old wounds and rediscover their love, can they find a future or will Molly run at the first chance? Really enjoyable story in the Hope series. I almost felt like it could be read as a standalone but there were some reoccurring characters that having the background helped me enjoy a little more. I really liked the connection between Carter and Molly and I loved that he was the one who was treading lightly with his feelings because he didn’t want Molly to leave. I thought the ending went a little quick but we got a HEA so it balanced out. Good read!
