Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between
by Jennifer E. Smith
I first thought this would be a 200-page long high school couple break up fight, but it ended up being so much more than that. Yes, the first half of the book seems to prove that I'm right. But as you continue reading, it evolves into something more.
Jennifer E. Smith perfectly pinpoints the dilemma that most high school couples face when heading off to different colleges. I might not have been in a couple when I headed off to university, but I could relate to the characters so much! I didn't particularly like any of them, but I still related to what they were experiencing. As someone who will be heading off to the UK in a few weeks, I understand how hard goodbyes can be. And Jennifer E. Smith perfectly depicted it.
This book is poignant and full of raw emotions. It's beautifully written and will make you ache for the characters and what they are going through.
Sara Dessen perfectly sums up this book: "Over one epic evening, Jennifer E. Smith expertly captures every painful, perfect nuance of first love. I didn't want the night - or this book - to end."
