Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor

5.0

“Dead souls dream only of death. Small dreams for small men. It is life that expands to fill worlds. Life is your master, or death is."

This book was so slow-paced at first, it took me two days just to get into the storyline. But towards the end of the book, I couldn't believe I'd thought bad about it at all. I love the way the dosab trilogy has these unusual titles and you're just,, what could daughter of smoke and bone, even,,, mean?! And then you read the book and it's just
oh.
Oh. That's what it means... It's kinda amazing, how the story comes together in the end and ties up with the title? Days of Blood and Starlight is literally what it means: wars and a sand castle in starlight, angels and demons, fighing, lives lost and loved ones restored. It's a tale, legend, story, myth of all things good and bad, of hope and breaking down, of knowing love and the unknown love, of giving up and giving in. I love Zuze and Mik (and I thought I didn't love them, wouldn't love them), I hate Thiago (I thought I couldn't hate him even more) but that disgusting piece of trash, that monster ??? He tried (tw) raping her and I was so, so disgusted and MAD and I'm so GLAD he's dead, I will ALWAYS be happy he died, that disgusting good for nothing, shitty and annoying piece of crap I Am So Happy He's Gone. I almost cried of relief when Karou stabs him, I thought he'd lock her up for disobeying him,
not try to rape her!!!!!
Ugh.

Akiva, my son, my jewel. I can't believe Hazael died, I can't believe that happened. Last time, Brimstone dies, now Hazael,, I'm almost scared of reading the next book. Will Akiva and Karou even make it out alive? Also, a little part of me hopes Hazael and Brimstone will, might come back. I hope, hope, hope.
I hate Thiago.
ZIRI! That was another amazing point in the book, I love Ziri! So much, so much. I know he doesn't stand a chance against Karou/Akiva's love and whatnot, but it wouldn't be that bad if Karou ends up with him?? idk?? He's just so amazing, and that plot twist with Thiago almost gave me a heart attack, oh god? I thought Akiva would die for certain when the "White Wolf" walked in Karou's room, but thank god that disgusting shit is dead. Thank God it was Ziri. I love Ziri.

And Akiva murdered the Emperor :O
I did not see that coming, and the whole thing with Akiva reaching that siyeudhisijs was so amazing, also who is the woman with a tiara and brown hair?? Is that his mom?? Festival?? I'm so excited for the next book, I can't wait. Reading DOSAB was the best thing I've ever done, I love it so much!!
