Getting Lucky Number Seven by Cindi Madsen

This is my favorite kind of story. A friends to lovers story featuring the nerdy, socially awkward girl, the hot jock best friend and a bucket list. It was also a makeover story of sorts, but I like that Lyla just updated her looks instead of completely changing everything about herself.

I love the way that Lyla and Beck slowly fell into their feelings for each other instead of going from friends to lovers basically overnight. It was also really great that Beck didn't suddenly fall in love with Lyla because she was easy on the eyes but more because when she finally let loose, he was able to accept the feelings that might have been there all along.

Even as Lyla checks off things from her list, rather quickly at that, she never really lets it change who she is. I love that. Even more, I love that Beck fell more in love with her because she was still Lyla through it all.

This was a sweet, funny romance that could be described as predictable but it definitely was still something worth reading. The dual POV's really helped to see what both characters were experiencing and made the book that much more enjoyable.
