Princess of the Silver Woods by Jessica Day George

-POTENTIAL SPOILERS-

This was another surprisingly good book! Not as good as Princess of Glass, but still pretty good.

Honestly, I agree with all the other reviews that say Princess of Glass was totally pointless. Despite being really good, the only part it plays in this book is mentioning Poppy's fiance. You could've skipped it entirely and moved onto this one instead.

The action and climax of the end were a lot better paced than in the first one, in my opinion. The author finally learned how to write good climaxes, it looks like. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was Petunia's character; she basically was like Poppy all over again. I know a lot of people have similar personalities, but there was basically no distinction between the two.

I liked the Little Red Riding Hood vibes I got at the beginning, as well as the setting; Russia. Although I must admit I don't know which fairy tale they're referencing in the story, if it is indeed an actual fairy tale and not one made up by the author.

Despite all this, however, I really enjoyed this. It was a solid conclusion to a decent book trilogy, and I was glad I got the chance to read it.
