I read One Hundred Years of Solitude and loved it - I picked up Leaf Storm as a way to reintroduce myself to Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I found this pretty slow going! The quite wordy stream of consciousness writing style is a bit tougher to get into when you're out of practice or not used to it I think. I enjoyed the mystery of the plot and really getting inside the heads of the characters, and I liked that some of their motives weren't fully explained. I think the lack of plot in this compared to One Hundred Years made me enjoy it less though, even though One Hundred Years is harder to follow given the number of characters with the same names!
