Along with Jeff Grubb's 'The Brother's War' and Rath Cycle anthology 'Rath and Storm', 'The Colors of Magic' was a foundational work for the new Magic: The Gathering storyline. These stories vary across time and some are better than others, but they all sketch a story of Dominaria's slow decline into the Ice Age following the 'Brother's War' and give some hope for the future. The stories are separated by 'color' and really explores the way the magic system works in this universe better than previous novels, stories and comic books did. Absolutely essential for Magic: The Gathering storyline fans.
