Lies in Our Stars by Patty Bryant, Malinda Lo, Racheline Maltese, Joel Derfner, Ellen Kushner, Paul Witcover, Alaya Dawn Johnson

3.0

Not too much to say about this chapter - it felt mostly transitory, though with some plot progression and good characterisation happening in the background. Still, I feel like some authors have a much better handle on one character than another, and Diane and Micah (as well as Rafe) in particular can sound different from one installment to the next: perhaps unavoidably so. On top of that, some explanations / inner monologues sound like echoes of information we already have from earlier parts, which can become annoying.

That said, the series is still giving me intense chocolate craving (I wish I still lived in a larger city, where going out for quality, luxury chocolate was an option - here there are places with chocolate, but I haven't so far found the experience to be particularly memorable). That, and I can't wait to read what happens next (I'm glad I'm mainlining it now rather than reading bit by bit).
