The Poet's Wife by Mandy Sayer

5.0

A compelling yet often distressing read. Sayer's writing is very authentic and despite the drama is never overwrought.

My heart breaks for all women trapped in these controlling, abusive relationships. Sayer's relief at getting out and making a new life for herself is evident in the epilogue '..a rush of relief so hard and strong I thought I would levitate.' Many aren't so fortunate.
