I don't care about any disparaging critique or what anyone else has to say about this book, I am obsessed with it. This book SPEAKS TO ME. In a way that makes me want to burst out crying because I've never felt more understood.

I've related to many fictional characters throughout my life, but Laila's character truly pierced into the very core of my identity. Everything from Laila's struggles as a writer to her biracial identity crisis - I relate so much to almost every aspect of this character that I feel as if I have been scrubbed raw after completing this book. Heck, I even have a little sister who is both similar in age and personality to Camille!

Is this book really the perfect depiction of the battles of teenagers on the cusp of adulthood or does this book just perfectly relate to my own experiences? I have no idea. All I know is that I love this book. And I need a physical copy ASAP because I need to reread and annotate and cry over the perils of grief and desire and teenage depression and-

just read this book and find out for yourself :')
