Deception on His Mind by Elizabeth George

4.0

This kind of should have been on the March list, as I read most of this thick book during March, and only finished it April 2nd. But, it is April now, so I'll add it to this one.. This is the next in the Havers/Lynley etc series, and I really liked it, because it featured Barbara. Barbara is definitely a growing person. She started out at the beginning of the series as bitter, and trapped in her life. You can see the improvement in her character as she comes to love other people, such as her 8 year old friend (no not in a gross way!). This book was all Barbara. It also gets into racism and homophobia as well. The end of the book solved the mystery. but was a cliff hanger in the main storyline of the series, so I can't wait to start the next one..
