Set in the Forgotten Realms (D&D) universe, this is the story of twin Tieflings, Farideh and Havilar, exiled from their hometown along with their Dragonborn adoptive father, Mehen, when one of them accidentally summons a cocky demon and the other binds herself to him as his warlock.  What follows is a journey through Hellish politics, as the various factions of the underworld try to use our protagonists to suit their own agendas.  More than that, though, it's a story about family: Farideh's, Lorcan's, and others.

I listened to the audio version of this, and I'm not sure if I recommend it that way or not: the narrator,  Dina Pearlman, takes a while to really hit her stride with the characters, though she does a good job distinguishing their different voices.  At times it's tricky keeping track of which demonic characters are with which faction, because it's hard to go back and reference earlier events.  That said, I really, really, like the way Ms. Pearlman brings Lorcan to life -- with her voice, he easily steals the show.
